Beware of diet soda pop! Let me say it again BEWARE of diet soda pops aka diet colas! Just because diet soda pop is calorie-free, does not mean it’s the healthier or better choice. Diet sodas contain zero calories which makes them appear better. When diabetic-prone rats were fed a high-fat diet with aspartame, an artificial sweetener used in diet soda drinks, they showed higher blood glucose levels (a diabetes risk factor) then those just fed a high-fat diet. “Excessive amounts of glucose in the blood stream are sent to the liver and converted to excess body fat” therefore making or keeping people fat, overweight, and obese.” Which people being or staying overweight, fat, or obese sadly keeps people depressed, unhappy, and with very low self esteem. And of course, the soda pop companies are obviously aware of this. I touched on this subject briefly in my book "28 Days to EXtreme Fat Loss".

Drinking diet soda pop can make a person fat and overweight.
In an article on CBS News, they mentioned that "In a recent study, which was cited in Eating Well Magazine, there was a study done at the University of Texas. It showed up that people who drank two or more diet sodas daily had a SIX-TIMES greater increase in waist circumference at the end of the 10-year study span compared to those who didn't drink diet soda at all.
Someone just told me earlier today that the ingredients in
diet soda pop are easily converted to sugar therefore making or keeping people
fat, overweight, and obese. Which people being overweight, fat, or obese sadly
keeps people depressed, unhappy, and with very low self esteem. And of course, the soda pop companies are
aware of this.

Another reason diet pop is making people fat is that the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas
create a negative hormonal response in the body that increases fat storing
hormone production and increases cravings for more sweets and refined
carbohydrates in the time period after consuming the diet drink. Plus people may subconsciously
think that because they are drinking a diet soda, that gives them more leeway
to eat more of everything else, hence consuming more calories overall.
Diet Soda makes people crave carbs!!!
Most people are drinking diet soda because it is calorie free and are trying to lose weight or maintain weight. Diet soda pop make in fact be doing the exact opposite in making people gain weight. Just because diet soda
is calorie-free, doesn’t mean it’s the healthier choice the beverage contains
no nutrients. And in fact, it might be harmful, according to limited research
on test animals. When diabetic-prone rats were fed a high-fat diet with
aspartame an artificial sweetener used in diet products they showed higher
blood glucose levels (a diabetes risk factor) than those just fed a high-fat
diet. “Excessive amounts of glucose in the blood stream are sent to the liver
and converted to excess body fat,” Forberg explains. But further research is
needed before we can compare these findings in rats to humans, the researchers
caution.
"Diet soda drinkers are more likely to be overweight or obese than regular soda drinkers and the more they drink, the fatter and more overweight they're likely to be." Report Researchers associated with the San Antonio Heart Study confirmed. "What we saw was that the more diet sodas a person drinks, the more weight they were likely to gain." said an Epidemiologist from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and they presented research data on soda pp consumption to the American Diabetes Association. Epidemiology is the study (or the science of the study) of the patterns, causes, and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations.

I personally feel that for some people the chemicals and artificial sweeteners in diet
sodas negatively impact the body's metabolism. The effects of drinking diet soda will differ from one person to another on how it affects the body's metabolism, hormones, and emotions, even mental clarity, Drinking diet soda pop does help some people lose weight initially just because they eliminate all of the sugar from regular pop. It is so unbelievable how many pop drinkers there are nowadays. I see people at the grocery store with cases and 12 packs or 2 liters just loaded on their carts. But overall, drinking diet soda pop is what is making LOTS of people fat and overweight.
